A potential client who (over a period of time) has thanked you for your market insight, invitation to connect and the heads on a competitor’s activity will feel better inclined to give you a vacancy/exclusivity/retainer
A candidate who has thanked you for your honest critique on their CV, the heads up on a role you aren’t working but is on the open market and clear guidance on salaries when they are coming up to wage review time will feel more inclined to give you a referral to a candidate/the name and insight into their inhouse head of recruitment/a period of exclusivity to market them
